Nice coat there, Maxson. Hope you don't mind me taling it.
This... *THIS* is how you do Factions in video games, both sides have fair points to fight and die for and the Brotherhood has legit reason to see this as a threat to the Commonwealth, they're not right but they aren't wrong either...most importantly, they aren't incapable of negotiation. They can be reasoned with, they can be dissuaded and convinced that an execution isn't always necessary and that while War may never change...it isn't forever and while it's absences may be temporary, so is its presence. The Brotherhood isn't evil...they're just REALLY determined to make sure history doesn't repeat itself.
Say what you will about Fallout 4, I will not defend it's god awful story, nor it's plethora of bugs and glitches... but the stuff on the side is just so fucking good! This mission alone has so much weight, complexity and interesting concepts to it that challenges the Human condition and it deserves the respect I'm giving it.
What's funny is that due to the new knowledge the Fallout show gives us about Vault-Tech is that wasn't science that outpaced man, it was capitalism
I swear Maxon looks like drake
I really hated that Bethesda has cut the rest of this questline, it was supposed to be possible for Danse to challenge Arthur and take over as the new Elder.
I swear Maxon looks like drake
Maxson is the oldest 20 year old i've ever seen
I swear Maxon looks like drake
i mean , he is ok compared to the rest of the people
I always choose the railroad because of this. His disregard for life is sick, synths are no longer robots they are another form of life, choosing to destroy them all is genocide and I’m not Hitler,
Choosing the railroad is craz bro go with the minutemen at least😂
Wow you're such a paragon of all that's good, wow 🙄
@@oagardothat’s like getting mad that someone says they’re gonna recycle bro.
Wrong I right you wrong
If Maxson is willing to switch up like that, then the rest of the chapter can burn along with their precious Prydwen and Vertibirds
I have to know: does anyone know who wrote this part in particular? Slightly related note: I love the physical acting in this. The fact that they seemed to create a unique animation just for this scene (0:36) blows my mind.
Maxson was right!!
In my main play through I shot Danse pretty much instantly and never really thought about it much afterwards, Ad Victoriam!
maxson is both a moron and a hipocrate. and the world will be a better place without bos.
Synth propaganda
@@LucagamesSiu nope , its minutemen reality. have fun trying to find some remains of him in the smoldering wreckage of the prydwen. unless you starve to death first...😁😁😁😁
@@kimrasmussen7188what are you yelling, that was a joke
Easy to forget, all these years later, that this game actually has some good shit in it.
Og fallout fans: FO4 has some of the worst writing ever wahhhh the factions are bad wahh
Every time I hear Paladin danse's Voice I always expect him to say "YOU HAVE NO IDEA OF THE TRUE POWER A DRAGONBORN CAN WIELD!"
There was another cut ending when you could fight the elder.
While many love Danse and will go to bat for him you really should take a deeper look into what the message Max is delivering which is absolutely a truth you cannot avoid especially for humanitys sake. Humans tend to let their emotions get in the way of rational and logical truth. While Danse does not pose a threat altleast now the truth is that he is still a programmed machine in which at anytime the Institue chooses they could send a Courser to either fetch, terminate and lastly initiate a reset giving Danse new memories and new instructions to kill. You know this is just a game which non of that actually happens but that does not negate that if this were an actual scenario with real life choices and decisions, you would truly be accountable for every decision made including sparing Danse. You may not like nor have the stomach to put Danse down but the truth remains, you could and would possibly get many killed though you'd believe it to be unintentional, the blame would soley be yours. The Brotherhood made it very clear what their objectives were, you as the sole survivor have to option to not join them, if you feel strongly against Maxs orders to kill Danse. Yes even Nick Valentines is another synth who at anytime could potentionally become a high risk threat should the Institute decide to target him for reset. I don't determine things in game by emotional choices, I think things through rationally and logically because I do not want blood on my hands should my choice fueled by emotion get people killed. Luckily Fallout 4 is not well written in terms of actual realistic consequences so you don't have to make realistic decisions which later have drastic consequences.
It’s pretty sad but Maxon has a point, it’s hard to trust something that has come from an institute that is still developing at the very least
in all my playtroughs ive never sided with the brotherhood... how anyone could is beyond me.. but im glad i found this video tho, i never knew Danse was a synth
This is just Blade Runner in a nutshell
Honestly this entire mission is one of the best written parts in the entire game. Finding out that Danse, the guy who essentially mentored you and sponsored your entry in the Brotherhood, was a synth all along was a brilliant twist. Because through the entire game he was trying to teach you the Brotherhood’s ideals, saying that synths, ghouls, and mutants shouldn’t be allowed to exist. And then upon finding out that he himself is a synth, he has an identity crisis and goes into hiding. You gotta respect both Danse and Maxson here. Both of them are 100% committed to the Brotherhood. Danse is willing to let himself be killed to uphold his beliefs, and Maxson isn’t willing to compromise his ideals even though Danse was one of his best officers. They both believe in the same thing. If you weren’t here, Danse would’ve 100% let Maxson kill him, and the only reason he’s allowed to live if you are here is because Maxson respects you and your contributions enough to let Danse walk away just this once, which I thought was cool. Finding out that there are people in the Brotherhood like Scribe Haylen who still respect Danse because of his accomplishments despite him being a synth was also cool to see.
the AI can be re-programmed at any given moment and the current "personality" lost...
Bro I'm in bed watching this video and was shocked to see my name I was like did I make this video hahaha
Only times i’ve experienced this in my 3 years carrying this, was when I was completely new and assembled the trigger mechanism wrong, they prob did that to make this video haha
I will forever believe Danse was voiced by George Clooney under a pseudonym 🤣
I’ve never made it to this point it’s on sight for me with the BOS
This is one of my favorite video game scenes ever and my favorite fallout moment.
Maxson: FLESH IS FLESH. Machine is machine. the two were never meant to intertwine. The Mechanicus: Lul Machine implants go BRRRRRRRRR
So you decide to betray the brotherhood and you get to be a paladin for that? You go against everything the brotherhood stands for, you should be villified by them.
fo4 has the illusion of choice
Maxon gives off MAJOR liver king vibes
"After all I've done, you need to listen to me. You owe me that much." Game: *Piper loved that*
I love Danse but the fact that there’s no consequences for refusing to kill him always bothered me. Everyone in Fallout 4 is so overly forgiving of you that it’s basically impossible to fuck up
If you come into contact with anyone in the BOS with Danse as a companion you’re attacked so I mean technically that’s the consequence but if you switch to anyone else it’s fine
Damn Maxsons voice actor is great
Maxus is making me have more reason to take that coat everyday
tbh i hate that it gave u a choice to spare Danse AND still be cool with the brotherhood. doesnt make sense if you truly believe what the brotherhood of steal is doing is right then you HAVE to kill Danse If you dont then you dont kill him but now your hostile to the brotherhood of steal it wouldve been a way better choice making
it would be better if after spare him, arthur doesn't want us again in the bos
Soo, since this *is* Bethesda...there's actually zero repercussions for keeping Danse as a follower and continuing with the questline as nothinghappened, I assume?
Actually, if you keep him as a companion, the Brotherhood Of Steel NPCs turn hostile towards you.
DANSE WHAT WILL YOU HAVE AFTER 500 YEARS
The Brotherhood, for the most part, reeks of hypocrisy, I never liked them.
Insitute propaganda
Only thing more badass than this voice acting is when Maxson executes Danse, he kneels down executioner style and gets his throat slit by the Elder. Made me cry but it was so cool
Nah true Gs download the danse dilemma cuz TODD WAS SMOKING CRACK.
This speech made me do an 180 on both the Brotherhood and Fallout 4. Ad victorium!
???: I believe it’s you who has gone too far, Arthur! Maxson: (turns to the source to see a man in X-02 Power Armor with a Brotherhood insignia on the chest, but it has a Lion added to it) You!?!?
cool fanfic bro
At this point we should have killed Maxon.
I am a double agent in favor of the minuteman and the institute. "Don't you see, Maxson? These are the best soldiers we can have "Danse, deactivation code XS23-076" they are programmable And they can always be loyal if we want, turning them into spies, super soldiers, with the sole and strict purpose of a better commonwealth"
Maxon really said: YOU ARE A TOY!!
Danse sounds like batman
Sometimes the writing makes me think that it would have been narratively better if the institute was making cyborgs. They made Kellogg a cyborg so they have the technology. There slogan is “Mankind Redefined” and they could make it so the institution only abducts people who are dying or dead to turn into cyborgs, making the argument between them and the railroad more interesting. Does the institution own the person who the brought back to life and stuff with tech and altered the memories of; or does that person keep there human autonomy?
and this is why i never side with the brotherhood in fallout 4
And this is why I always side with the brotherhood in fallout 4. No other faction has such an awesome moment as this.
He has a point tho
